About the Turret Guest HouseThe Turret is a listed Victorian terraced villa described by Historic Scotland as an example of a Free Style Baronial Town House. It retains many of the house's original features, including a beautiful open wooden staircase with arch and minstrel gallery. In the lounge there is an original white marble fireplace with three special Shakespeare tiles that were designed by an Edinburgh artist who was commissioned by Minton. The Turret guest house has three floors. The Guest Lounge/Dining Room is situated on the Ground floor (USA 1st floor). There are eight guest bedrooms altogether situated on the first (USA 2nd floor) and second floors (USA 3rd floor). Situated in a quiet residential area off the main A68/A7 Dalkeith Road, we are just over 1 mile from Princes Street and Waverley station, which is the main train station in Edinburgh. We are just a mile from the Royal Mile, where you can visit Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace and the new Scottish Parliament. Although we do not have a private car park, the area has unrestricted free street parking and most guests just park their cars and forget about them until it is time to travel on. You can then walk into town or use one of the frequent and convenient local buses which leave from the end of the street every few minutes. We will try and help you enjoy your stay in our beautiful city by supplying information, maps and trying to answer any questions you may have. We would also be delighted to help organise little extras like flowers, champagne etc, for that special occasion. Languages spoken by our staff are English and Indonesian.
